Accessibility

Last updated: July 10, 2026

Flexbound is being built so people with disabilities can use the website and mobile app independently. Our engineering target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA where those criteria apply.

This statement describes our current accessibility work. It is not a legal certification or a claim that every experience is barrier-free.

What we support

The Flexbound website is designed to provide:

  • Semantic headings, page landmarks, descriptive links, and a skip-to-content link
  • Full keyboard access without keyboard traps
  • Visible keyboard focus and a mobile navigation control that reports its open or closed state
  • Text and interface contrast targeted to WCAG Level AA
  • Layouts that reflow when text is enlarged or the viewport is narrow
  • Reduced animation when the operating system requests reduced motion
  • Labels, instructions, validation, and announced results for interactive calculators
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images and hidden treatment for decorative images

The Flexbound mobile app is designed to provide:

  • VoiceOver and TalkBack names, roles, states, values, and hints for interactive controls
  • Logical reading and focus order
  • Headings and summaries for important sections, charts, estimates, and status changes
  • Support for system text scaling without deliberately clipping text
  • Controls with practical touch targets and no action that depends only on color
  • Respect for the device’s reduced-motion and screen-reader settings through native platform behavior

Testing

We combine automated checks with manual keyboard, responsive-layout, and screen-reader-oriented review. Automated tools cannot prove accessibility on their own, so releases should also be checked with VoiceOver on iOS, TalkBack on Android, and representative browser and keyboard combinations.

Known limitations

Accessibility is an ongoing part of product development. Third-party destinations opened from Flexbound, such as research publications, app-store pages, or external support services, are controlled by their respective owners. Some data visualizations are summarized in text rather than exposing every visual mark individually.

Report an accessibility barrier

If something prevents you from using Flexbound, email suolaraketti@proton.me with:

  • The page or app screen where the problem occurred
  • What you were trying to do
  • Your device, operating system, browser, and assistive technology, if known
  • A description of the barrier and any workaround you found

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and will provide the same information or service through a reasonable alternative while we investigate.

Standards and guidance

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2
  • U.S. Department of Justice guidance on web accessibility and the ADA
  • React Native accessibility guidance
